Sunday Senses

Linking up with Rebecca from Unexplained X2.

Sight - My daughters bed head...as much as I love her sweet curly hair it can become a big rats nest every morning. Thank goodness she has a tough head and for detangling spray!

Hear - Blue's Clue's and the heater running. The beautiful weather came to a end last night. Now there is a chance of snow Monday or Tuesday. Everyone has always said this in OK...if you don't like the weather now just wait a day or two.

Feel - My daughter hanging off of me while she is watching the above! I love that she now participates in finding the clues now!

Taste - strawberry fat free smoothie, since I can't partipate in the goodness listed below. These 15 pounds are going to be the death of me. My Mom always said the older you get the harder it is to lose weight. I never imagined it would be this hard...is was so easy putting the pounds on (very fast at that).

Smell - Cinnamon rolls...Yummy! Homemade, I wish. Can we say fresh out of a can?!?!

Go on over and link up now! I love this easy fun post!

ME challenge - week 4

Today's agenda changed...Molly and Luke joined in the fun, so needless to say plans changed. DH wasn't feeling well, I didn't feel right leaving him the kids. Anyways I still got to have my favorite restaurant breakfast at Cracker Barrel - Blueberry Pancakes! Yum! They were awesome! Luke ate like a good little boy....Molly not so much. She was way to busy entertaining everyone around us!

I did do something else just for ME this week....My friend Brandi and I made our monthly run to Beauty Brands. I bought me some OPI lotion (pictured below). I love this stuff! I handle so much paper at work that my hands get terribly dry! This stuff soaks in fast without leaving a sticky feeling. Totally recommend it.

If you have a Beauty Brands in your area I recommend you signing up with your email address and home address for their special offers. Every month they send a coupon for a free product with any purchase (any amount). I get one in the mail and one through email. The coupons are for different products,so it's not like you get 2 of the same one. Below is a picture of my free products. Not bad if I say so myself!

I hope everyone had a great week! Thanks for hosting every week Dolli-mama!

Beautiful day!

There are so many blogs I follow that have had their fair share of snow fall these last copy of weeks, so I hope these sunny pictures cheer you up (& not hate me). The weather today and this weekend is just simply beautiful! Today the high was 75!!! Love it!! Anyways....I took a half of day off work, so we could enjoy. DH and I took the kids over to Nana & Papa house to play. They have the perfect flat driveway for bike and scooter (both x-mas presents)riding! The kids had an absolute ball! Todd's parents also have a few other outside toys to play with! We had a nice afternoon off!

I will link up to the ME challenge tomorrow - Mom and I have a day planned!

Happy Birthday Granddad!

We love you!

Silly Boy!

Peek a boo! Luke has started his own game the past 2 weeks of pulling all of Mom's pillows off her bed. He then piles them up to jump on & hide from Sissy!

He does this several times a day! He loves it, so he thinks we are pretty mean when he has to put the pillows up.

So my bed looks like this a lot of the time.

Little fun note about Molly: This morning I gave her a kiss bye.....I guess since the air is so dry I shocked her with static electricity. She looked at me with her little frown and said your lips are hot! I tried to get another kiss and she wouldn't give me one. I hope she forgets by the time I get home tonight....I want my welcome home kiss!

Sunday Senses

Linking up with Rebecca from Unexplained X2 because I love reading her Sunday Senses every week. So glad she extended the invite to link up.

Sight - my son sitting on my night stand drinking my diet mountain dew....no I normally don't allow him to sit there, but I have a headache. Really not worth it at this point!

Hear - My son's hiccups from drinking my pop to fast!! And teen mom 2 reality show in the back ground. I am a sucker to reality T.V..

Feel - My son hanging on my arm because he is tired...the caffeine hasn't kicked in yet.

Taste - This is a little embarrassing.....sweet and sour candy glow worm. I know horrible!!

Smell - Not much..too lazy to make the fabulous breakfast like Rebecca.

Head on over and link up too!

ME challenge - week 3

I was afraid that I wasn't going to get to link up this week, but then I remembered I bought myself something this week.I had $20.00 in New York & Company rewards, so it was a guiltless purchase.

I really liked it in the store, but after taking this picture I am not so sure. Please give your honest opinion. Does it look kind-of older looking? Below is the close-up of the detail.

I am getting old enough on my on without the help of a sweater!

I have to say...I really have enjoyed reading everyone else's posts each week regarding this
challenge. Here we are only on week 3, so glad to be part of the ME group!

Have a wonderful weekend! Take care!

Curious???

I am curious if anyone has made their blog into a book? I was/&am the world's worst at keeping a baby book. I didn't start this blog until Molly and Luke were 18 months, but still figure it would be something they would cherish one day. I was thinking of having two made after their 3rd birthday. If you have any insight....please share! Or if you have an opinion one way or another I would love to hear it. Thanks for your time and thoughts. Have a great rest of the week! Oklahoma is supposed to get a winter mix tonight, so I am not looking forward to my commute to work in the morning. Snow seems to bring all the crazies out on the road. Plus everyone and their dog decide to go grocery shopping just as soon as it starts. Craziness!

On a second note Molly and Luke did get snow suits (sleds too) for Christmas from Todd's parents, so they are prepared for a play in the white stuff! :)

4 Generations

I have mentioned before that I hoped my Nana lived long enough that Molly and Luke would remember her after time. When she passed away a few months ago I figured they would forget her. They had only visited her a hand full of times in the assisted living home. Plus I just figured at their age they would soon forget, but Molly proved me wrong tonight. I was going through pictures searching for a specific one and came across the above picture. I showed it to her and asked her who it was. The very first person she named was Nana. That made my heart melt. Now it is up to me to refresh and remind her mind of just who her Nana was and how much Nana adored her. I am sure my Nana was looking down at that very moment with a huge smile on her face.

ME challenge - Week 2

Photobucket

One of my New Years resolutions was to get back on track losing the weight I gained last year. I have no excuses to why I gained the weight...just didn't watch my eating and portion intake. Plus the lack of exercise didn't help! My goal is to lose 15 pounds by the end of February. So this week I have been eating my lean cuisine for lunch everyday at my desk. I had all intentions to use my lunch hour today to run errands for the family. Instead 2 of my friends at work asked me to join them for lunch, so I did. This made my Friday go faster and much more enjoyable! Thanks Brandi and Tonya for making my Friday better. Plus letting me choose a place that I could eat an non-guilty selection. I hope this counts as a ME time. I think it does.

Miss Molly and I can go run those errands together tomorrow! Totally worth it....we get some girlie time together!

Past Birthdays

Look at these chubby monkeys! I wish I could have one last kiss on those chubby cheeks. Oh how I love sweet baby rolls. It is so hard to believe my babies are turning 3 in a little over a month. Oh where oh where did the time go? Molly and Luke's 1st birthday party was pretty low key, since we were still on preemie house arrest. We had Grandparents and Amanda (NICU nurse) & Bryan over for a prince and princess themed party. They both tore into their cake and had the time of their lives. You can view their 1st birthday pictures at the bottom of this page.

The twins 2nd Birthday party was a Yo Gabba Gabba theme party with all family invited. They had an absolute ball. Now it is time to plan their 3rd Birthday. Well to be honest, I have been thinking/planning it for a while. What to do, where to have it and when?!?!? I have decided to have it at a inside bounce house place. I know that is a crazy place for a germ crazy lady to pick, but it's not about me. Right? I think the kids will have a blast! They love running, climbing, and jumping! It should be a great time for all. Mom will do her best to leave the germ-x and wet-ones at home.

I love this boy!

Please excuse the no makeup, but I had to share this picture of me and my baby boy! Oh how I love him! He can drive me crazy, but I take one look at times like this and the frustration fades away. My heart melts. I am not sure if it is the terrible three's or what, but here lately I feel like all I am doing is getting on to this kid. I hate it! I hoping something clicks real soon.

Pictures for 3rd Birthday Invitation

Click here to view these pictures larger

I need to get the twins 3rd Birthday invitations ordered, so I had to do another photo shoot. Not that I mind...I love pictures! These were taken in our backyard. The kids had a blast, so it was pretty easy to get some good shots. Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! Enjoy!

1st week of my ME challenge - Updated

Photobucket

As stated in this post.. I was inspired by Dolli-Mama to challenge myself to some much needed ME time in 2011. The first thing that came to mind was I needed to make more time for my marriage. Todd and I spend very little time alone, since having the twins. I really miss that time. We were married for 11 years before we had Molly and Luke, so as little as 3 years ago we spent all our free time together. After we had the kids we both we just look at each other and say "What in the world did we do with all our extra time?" Oh we knew.....we went to dinners, movies, weekend car trips, shopping......you know everything that was so easy to do before kids. I have come to the conclusion that if we would not have had all those years together......maybe just maybe the last 3 years would not have been so good on our marriage. Meaning the lack of OUR time has been very few and far between, so a lot of marriages may not have survived. I feel in my heart that we love each other dearly & would do anything/&everything for each other! We will celebrate our 14th anniversary in 2 months. I am going to work on planning something very special. Please feel free to give me any ideas, maybe just maybe I could book a hotel for a night?!?!? Could I leave my kids for 24 hours? I don't know, but my marriage is worth the challenge.

For the first week of Amber's challenge Todd and I are going to dinner tonight! My Mom is picking up Molly and Luke at 3 this afternoon. I know they will have a ball too! I will give you all know the details later! Have a great weekend! I hope you all are thinking of your next ME pleasure! :-)

Update: Todd and I had sushi for dinner! It was really nice being just the 2 of us! We enjoyed talking with each without any distractions. Being able to enjoy a meal without worrying what Molly and Luke was doing is really nice. We then stopped at the store on the way home, so I could purchase 2 gossip magines! I haven't bought one of those in ages! I am really into this challenge...can't wait until my next date!

Back to work I go......

I am lucky to have enjoyed 11 days off over the holidays to spend with my family, but all good things have to come to a end. Tomorrow is my last day off. Last year I wrote this post . Everything still stands as I wrote in that post. I still wish I could be a SAHM. I still feel very blessed that my Mom watches Molly and Luke on the days Todd is at the fire station. That does make it easier to return to work. I know Heather over at Life as we know it with Two Twinkies & a Tater Tot is having the same emotions as me tonight. If only it was easier to win the lottery! ;-) Thank goodness I love my job and co-workers!!! It makes all the difference. I hope everyone has a great first week of 2011! Don't forget about all the resolutions you made and want to keep! :-)
