Happy Thanksgiving

Luke did not want to sit to have his picture taken.
Molly tried to cheer him up by giving him a hug.
Molly didn't mind at all posing for a pic!
The pair - I can never get a good picture of them together.
This is the best I could get of Luke in his Thanksgiving shirt. I hope you and yours had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Below are a few things I am thankful for this year.

Even though it was a huge mess to clean up.....I am still so thankful to have this little boy to call my son.

He found this lipstick somewhere in my bathroom.
I really think he thought he was putting it on perfectly.
If you are wondering.....No, this is not a shade I currently wear. I am really hoping it was never this bright when I did wear it.

Whenever times like those happen I can always take one look at this picture above and see why they don't seem to bother me too bad. He can be such a sweet little boy that I love with my entire heart! :)

and if that doesn't work I just have to look at a picture like the one below to make me laugh. He loved it when his Daddy gave him this tattoo. He thought he was big stuff.
p.s. He did get a haircut shortly after this picture was taken.

If you are getting out for Black Friday shopping I hope you get what you are after. Good Luck! I am not really after any doorbusters, but I will probably get out to do a little Christmas shopping.

Santa pictures

It was a no go on the Santa pictures. Todd picked me up Monday at lunch to take Molly and Luke to see Santa at the mall. All the way there Molly was so excited! She keep saying picture with Santa over and over. Luke didn't really care. He is all boy! Let me tell you. We get there and have to wait for Santa for 10 minutes. Of course neither one likes that. We are the first in line. Santa gets there the elf tell us they are ready, so in we walk. Santa says 1 word to Molly. She grabbed my leg and held on for dear life. So we decided to do a family picture. Well that didn't go over so good. Molly threw herself to the floor screaming NO. Yes....I was that Mom making my child terrified of Santa for my selfish reason of wanting a picture. Needless to say it didn't happen. I did get an adorable picture of my 2 guys! I will post the picture soon. Todd hates it. He says he looks like a dork that squeezed himself into a chair with Santa. Too funny! Molly didn't have a problem tearing into the mini candy cane Santa gave Todd! Go figure!?!?

In other news....We are so excited to see Molly and Luke's primary nurse from the NICU tonight! Amanda, Bryan and their new baby are coming for a visit. We can't wait!!!

The past few weeks and next

My posts have been very few and far between lately. No excuses or reasons really. Just busy, busy and busy. Work has been CRAZY. My Nana that I blogged about a few times went home to God 2 weeks ago today. She went very peacefully in her sleep. Went down for a nap and never woke up. Bless her heart! She made it to her goal of 100. She was a wonderful woman. She will be missed by many. Rest in peace my sweet beautiful Nana! My ankle is healing nicely. I should have the walking boot off for good on Tuesday. Just in time for Thanksgiving. I never got my post done on Halloween. I had so many pictures to share of how much fun the kids had. Also a few of their cousins. For some reason my computer has decided to stop uploading pictures. Hopefully Todd can get figured out soon. Molly has really broadened her vocabulary skills! There is nothing you can say or tell her to say that she does not attempt to say or use at a later time. She is sort of what you call a "copy cat"! Luke is talking more, but still a little behind Molly in that category. He focuses more on numbers and figuring out how things work. I am sure his speaker skills will catch up to Molly's due time. I have always heard boys are a little behind girls in that category. Todd is going to meet me tomorrow at the mall tomorrow with the kids. We are going to attempt pictures with Santa for the first time. I think Molly will do it......not sure about Luke. Who knows I could be wrong on both counts. I just thought I would try before it got way too busy. This is the first year that the kids will really participate in all the Thanksgiving and Christmas festivities. Their first time around they were still under house arrest per doctors orders due to their prematurity. Their next go around the swine flu had made it's out break and with Molly's BPD (chronic lung disease) we choose to keep them protected one last year. Hopefully this year even if she does get sick her lungs should have enough good tissue to out way the bad tissue that way she would over come the illness with no problem. They got their 1st flu shot 2 weeks ago, so we should be good to enjoy the fun. This post has turned into a lot of random thoughts. So sorry to be all over the place. If I don't get to post again before Thursday...I wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving!

Prematurity Awareness Day

Today is prematurity awareness day! As everyone knows Molly and Luke were born at 28 weeks....12 weeks before their due date. They came into this world tiny little fighters weighing 2.4 and 2 pounds. I had never seen a baby that small before. The NICU journey by far was the hardest experience if my life. I follow so many wonderful blogs and carebridges about preemies that have won their battle or are fighting their battle now. Please say an extra prayers for these preemies tonight! It amazes me everyday how strong these precious babies are. I am very blessed that mine never had to have surgery. I never received one of those late night calls. They had no brain bleeds. Their eyesight and hearing are fine. They caught up in size by 12 months. They caught up developmentally by 18 months. Yes...very blessed indeed. I still feel like they deserved to be recognized for the battle they fought. They went through more in the first few weeks of their life than many adults do. Molly had 5 blood transfusions. Luke had 3. That right there is more then most people go through in a life time. I praise GOD everyday for giving me Molly and Luke. They have shown me so much. I am sure they will show me a bunch more in my life time.

I have a link to my posts on Molly and Luke's NICU stays on the right hand side of my blog. Also please scroll down to the bottom to see their NICU pictures.

To all the blog and carebridges site I follow ..... I am thinking and praying for your preemies. Whether they are still in the NICU or at home. They are always in my thoughts and prayers.
